San Bernardino County CCW Initial (2-Day) Course

Course certification provided by Riverside Indoor Shooting Range

Our San Bernardino County CCW Initial Course is designed for first-time applicants seeking to obtain their California Concealed Carry Weapon (CCW) permit through the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

This comprehensive two-day course meets all training requirements established by San Bernardino County and covers both the classroom and live-fire qualification components required for initial applicants.

What This Course Covers

Day 1 – Classroom Instruction (9 Hours)

• California firearms laws and legal responsibilities
• Use of force and self-defense law
• Firearm safety and safe handling
• Proper storage and transportation of firearms
• Situational awareness and conflict avoidance
• Responsibilities of a CCW permit holder
• Review of Riverside County CCW policies and procedures

Day 2 – Range Qualification (Up to 9 Hours)

• Live-fire qualification with each listed firearm
• Safe draw and presentation
• Accuracy and shot placement
• Reloading and malfunction clearing
• Range safety and firearms handling under supervision
• Firearm Qualification Requirements
• Up to 3 firearms may be qualified
• 10 rounds per firearm are required
• All firearms must be legally owned and compliant with California law
• Additional Information
• Course is taught by Riverside County Sheriff POST-certified firearms instructors
• Training meets or exceeds all Riverside County CCW requirements
• Certification paperwork is provided upon successful completion
• Lunch will be provided both days
• Drinks and snacks are recommended due to the length of the course
• Eye and ear protection are required (available at the range if needed)
